Angela Giannaki viola

She studied violin and viola in Athens and London (Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Royal College of Music). Her studies were supported by scholarships from Onassis Foundation, “A. Trianti” Foundation and Royal College. 

During the period 2005-2006, Angela was a scholar at the International Ensemble Modern Academy in Frankfurt and participated in the European Tour of Ensemble Modern Orchestra. 

 

She has performed in chamber music concerts and festivals around Europe (England, Scotland, France, Cyprus, and Greece), has collaborated with the Allegri string quartet, and has performed live for BBC Radio 3 in London. 

From 2007-2010 she was the viola of the New Hellenic Quartet with whom she toured extensively in Greece, Europe, and Turkey, released CDs, and participated in educational programs. 

As a soloist she has performed with the Athens Camerata - Orchestra of the Friends of Music, the Thessaloniki State Orchestra, the Orchestra of Colors, and the Municipality Orchestra of Athens. 

 

Since 2006 Angela holds the position of principal viola at the orchestra of the Greek National Opera. She is a member of Ergon since 2009.
