christina pantelidou oboe

Born in Athens-Greece, she began musical studies at an early age at the Athens Conservatory where she first attended piano classes and then oboe under Claude Chieulet, graduating with a diploma in June 1997. She attended seminars in Greece and abroad with P.Dombrecht (Athens, Brussels), H.Schellenberger (Siena) and E.Abbuhl(Basel).Between 1997-1999 she took lessons in Berlin from H.Schellenberger and in Paris from D.Pateau. In August 2000 she took part in the 29th International meeting of I.D.R.S.(International Double Reed Society) in Buenos Aires. 

 

In 1995 she became a permanent member of the Athens State Orchestra. Since then she has often collaborated with most of the greek orchestras, the Thessaloniki State Orchestra, the Thessalonica Municipal Orchestra, Camerata-Orchestra of friends of music, the Orchestra of Colours the Patras Orchestra and abroad with the National Orchestra of France. 

She has appeared as soloist with the Athens State Orchestra, the Orchestra of Colors and the Symphony Orchestra of Cyprus. A keen performer of contemporary music she is a member of Ergon since 2009.

 

Pantelidou has given the premiere of several concertos by Greek composers especially written for her most notably by Alexandros Mouzas, Yiannis Ioannidis, Babis Kanas, and Philippos Tsalahouris.

 

Since October 2013 she’s a member of the Woodwind Quintet of the Athens State Orchestra participating in concerts and educational programs throughout Greece.
